In Feodosia, the archaeologists and public-spirited persons raise a red flag as far as the occupants ruthlessly destroy the history of the city. The drops of soil with human bones, destruction of the antique smallholding building of the 14th century B.C. and attempts of building up a field with mounds on Karantin that is on the way to St. Iliya Cape. That is the thing happening to the 25 century-history of the city.
Thus, in the historical part of Feodosia, the Chechen company Interbusiness-55 is laying out the water conduit and sewerage. Earlier, not having co-ordinated their works with the archaeologists, the company filled the part of Genuez Trench with construction waste. As a result, in Novokarantin Street leading to the place where a reservoir with water will be located, human bones jut out of the walls of the trenches for tubing. Onto the road, which is on the way to St. Iliya Cape, the construction waste is brought and thrown. There, fragments of the middle-aged and antique ceramics mixed with human bones are scattered all over place. Nearby Genuez Fortress, the remnants of the antique smallholding buildings were destroyed as the trenches were dug. Right here, there is a pile with a great many of human bones.
Along the way stretching from the southern uptown to St. Iliya Cape, there are fields with mounds. Over here, the most saturated sections are. We mean an ancient antique necropolis that has a world-wide fame. Now that territory is divided. The land lots are registered in the Russian inventory and allotted for a single-family dwelling construction.
‘The ancient smallholding buildings, mounds, and burial grounds will be destroyed soon. They have not been drawn on the map of the historic and cultural heritage. The protected zones have not been drafted. A month ago, the administration held a meeting and arrived at the decision not to oppose building up that spot’, public-spirited persons emphasize.
The citizens are indignant because the people from all over the civilized world try to preserve even stochastic archeological findings. In Feodosia, on the contrary, they destroy the facilities of the historic and cultural heritage with a world-wide fame.
