The Ministry of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine addressed the Google LLC Corporation and sent a letter to them, in which they explain the Crimean Tatar Language (Qırımtatar tili, lat. Crimean Tatar language) is a language of one of the native peoples of Ukraine and integral element of its identity and ethno-cultural wholeness.

The letter was signed by Vice-Prime Minister of Ukraine, i.e. Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories Aleksey Reznikov.

‘We are sure that the integration of the Crimean Tatar language into the service Google Translate will contribute to increasing the quantity of the Crimean Tatar speaking people, will provide the favorable  conditions for the enlargement of the fields, within which the language is used by popularizing it beyond the ethnic group, as well, and will stimulate the representatives of other nations to learn the Crimean Tatar language. In the end, it will largely contribute to forming a cultural heritage of the native Crimean Tatar people and Ukraine, as a whole’, Aleksey Reznikov pointed out.

Deputy Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine and Minister for Digital Development, Transformations, and Digitalization Snaver Seitkhaliev reported that now they are designing a new site for the Ministry of Reintegration where all the official information of the ministry will also be translated into Crimean Tatar.

‘The Crimean Tatar language must be maximally accessible for everyday use, learning, scientific researches, and making the literature richer, as well. We understand that we must translate a maximum amount of texts into the Crimean Tatar language to make them an integral part of the Google service. That is why the Crimean Tatar community is ready to join the groundwork. That is an issue of importance for the Crimean people who love the Crimean Tatar language as their native one. The best level of spreading and using any language, which contributes to its development, can be realized through its integration and advanced digital platforms. That is why the Ministry of Reintegration is doing its best to enable the appearance of the Crimean Tatar language in a digital format, so that using it can become easier with the help of the service Google Translate’, Snaver Seitkhalilev emphasized.
