In Bakhchysarai, due to the mismanagement of the occupying authorities, the most important piece of architecture of the Crimean Tatar people İsmi Han Cami is being destroyed. The mosque was erected approximately in the 16th—18th centuries. The construction was paid with the donations of the niece of one of Crimean khans. In 1986, the build was conferred with a status of local cultural heritage site.
It is worth mentioning that the richest Bakhchysarai Region was robbed by the occupying authorities in 2014. At the same time, the reprisals against the Crimean Tatars were carried out. Their natural-born entrepreneurship was destructed. Meanwhile, the destruction of Bakhchysarai Palace through the ‘reconstruction’ was initiated. As a result, Bakhchysarai has lost its tourist magnetism.
