Yalta residents are upset about the condition of sea piers and berths, many of which are unsafe and destroyed beyond use.
In April 2017, “Glavgosexpertiza” was reported to have approved a project to reconstruct 12 berths at Yalta Sea Port, but they have not started the project yet.
After the berth in Miskhor had collapsed in 2019, others were closed for mooring. Of all the berths available in Yalta, only berth No.9 and several piers are open and suitable for use.
On 9 July, there was an unprecedented case, when a ship dropped off passengers straight onto the shore.
