As news today report On September 21, 2022, the occupational fake “Supreme court of the Republic of Crimea” announced the appointment of “sentences” in the so-called “case of blowing up a gas pipeline in Crimea”.

This process was a form of persecution by the Russian invaders’ punishers of the deputy chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Nariman Dzhelal, to whom the “court” criminally determined “17 years in a strict regime colony with restriction of freedom for a year and a half and a fine of 700 thousand rubles”.

Two other Crimean Tatars who took part in this criminal “trial”, Asan and Aziz Akhtemov, received from the invaders, respectively, “15 and 13 years in a strict regime colony with restriction of freedom for 1 year and a fine of 500 thousand rubles.”

As stated on this occasion in the Prosecutor’s Office of AR of Crimea and Sevastopol, fake “law enforcement and judicial systems” in the Crimea are the only repressive machine, the purpose of which is only to persecute and intimidate the civilian population of the peninsula, including the indigenous Crimean Tatar people.

Under its “wheels” fall all those who take a pro-Ukrainian position and who have not come to terms with the occupation, lawlessness and terror on the peninsula. It is noteworthy, the prosecutor’s office of the autonomy noted that Nariman Dzhelal was detained last year immediately after participating in the Crimean Platform summit, that his detention was connected with public and political activities, coverage of the crimes of Russian invaders, freedom of speech and the fight for human rights.

The prosecutor’s office added that all the facts of the commission of crimes by Russia and its occupation “administration” in the Crimea, including against the Crimean Tatars, are recorded in the criminal proceedings of the prosecutor’s office of the autonomy.

As President of the Ukrainian PEN Club Andriy Kurkov stated, this “attempt to sentence… just further accumulates disagreement with Russian policy and a greater desire to fight for the freedom of all prisoners: both civilian journalists and just political prisoners – Ukrainian citizens, Crimean Tatars who are in prisons in Crimea and in the Russian Federation”.
