On August 15, by decree of the President of Ukraine No. 579/2022, the Advisory Council on Deoccupation and Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territory of Crimea and the City of Sevastopol was established as an advisory body under the head of state.
The main tasks of the Advisory Council are the preparation of proposals regarding work priorities, in particular within the framework of the “Crimean Platform”, on the issues of de-occupation, reintegration and restoration of the territorial integrity of Ukraine. The Advisory Council should also be responsible for participating in the development of Ukraine’s position on the key areas of activity of the “Crimean Platform” and the preparation of proposals for improving the legislation on the deoccupation and reintegration of the Crimea.
The Regulations on the Advisory Council provide for the involvement in its work of representative bodies of the indigenous peoples of Ukraine, representatives of the International Expert Network of the “Crimean Platform”, domestic and foreign scientists, experts. The Chairman of the Advisory Council is the President of Ukraine, and the Secretary is his Permanent Representative to the AR of Crimea.
The Advisory Council includes ministers, key officials of the Office and Representation of the President of Ukraine in AR of Crimea, heads of parliamentary committees, the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People, and two representatives of the International Expert Network of the Crimean Platform.
