During the week before the celebration of Orthodox Easter, Russian propaganda persistently spread the thesis that Ukrainian nationalists were allegedly preparing attacks on worship services and gatherings of believers. At the same time, these “forecasts” did not become a reality either in the Crimea or in the Russian-occupied areas of the Kherson region.

We have already written that in particular this was a form of blackmailing the aggressor against the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate to ensure its “greater loyalty” to the occupiers and “cooperation” with the established “Russian administrations”

However, even Russian propaganda was forced to state that religious services were held in the occupied territories of southern Ukraine under the barrels of the occupiers’ machine guns, but not together with them.

In his Easter address, Metropolitan of Kherson of the Moscow Patriarchate John pointed to the “gloomy time of hardship for our Fatherland” and called for “deeds of mercy towards our neighbors who have lost their homes, food, clothing and much more vital needed for these days”.This was a refrain from the statement of its leader, Kyiv Metropolitan Onufriy, that “the forces of evil have thickened over us”.

However, another formal subordinate of Onufriy, Metropolitan Lazar of Simferopol, in his Easter address “did not notice” any troubles or problems related to the war, apparently copying a similar Easter position of Moscow Patriarch Kirill.

Under the Crimean clergy, the fake “helmsmen” of the peninsula reminded on the war in their “Easter addresses” – the so-called “governor” of Sevastopol acknowledged the onset of “difficult times”, and “head of the republic” Aksyonov did not forget to recall the aggressor’s criminal plan for a “special military operation”.

Also, apparently “on the occasion of the holiday” so called “governor” Mikhail Razvozhayev decided to “visit with gifts” military hospital of the occupiers in Sevastopol; it is noteworthy that and occupation propaganda “forgot” to show the actual “gifted” and their physical condition in the relevant story.
