In March 2022, it was reported that the state authorities of Ukraine had determined the amount of damage for the illegal use of the North Crimean Canal by the occupiers, contrary to technological requirements, which is about a million dollars per day.

On April 4, the mayor of Melitopol, abducted in March 2022 and then exchanged by the Russian occupiers, reported the agricultural machinery’s theft from the community and on its transportation to the Crimea, committed by the collaborators.

Satellite tracking also recently reported on the replacement of two modern tractors, stolen by occupiers at a farm near Kherson that were found in Chechnya after being taken to Russia via the occupied Crimea.

Of course, the facts described above are not the initiative of individual Russian soldiers and those crimes could not be committed by them alone. Thus, in addition to kidnappings, murders and rapes, the aggressor’s structures introduced a systematic practice of organized looting in the occupied territories of mainland Ukraine.

At the same time, there no monitoring structures of international organizations in these occupied territories, andl also there are no representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross there.

In these circumstances, the Kherson regional organization of the Committee of Voters of Ukraine made an official appeal where called for the immediate sending of representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross to the region to provide immediate assistance to detained civilians.

Also in March 2022, our Association sent, according to established procedures, ten communications to the UN Human Rights Council’s authorized structures, describing the relevant violations of fundamental human rights in the occupied territories of Ukraine.

In April, these our activities continued, with UN special rapporteurs receiving verified information from the Association about the abduction, murder and intimidation of local government officials by Russian punitive forces, as well as torture, rape and illegal abduction and movement of Ukrainian children by Russian soldiers.

The Association is waiting for the immediate start of the UN Human Rights Council special commission’s work in Ukraine in accordance with the resolution of this Council 49/1, 2022.
