On October 8, the experts of the Association, Professor Boris Babin and Docent Andrei Chvalyuk, discussed ways to protect internally displaced persons from the Crimea at the international round table “Importance of Humanitarian Work and Fridtjof Nansen’s Ideas for Solving the Biggest Crisis of Enforced Population Displacement” held by the UN Refugee Agency and the Norwegian Embassy in Kiev. In his presentation, Professor Babin focused on ensuring the displaced persons’ right to development and highlighted ways to protect their rights by non-governmental organizations in cooperation with UN agencies. In particular, the results of the Association’s work on providing a series of relevant communications to UN Special Rapporteurs with a mandate in the field of internal displacement and the right to development were highlighted.
