On May 12, 2021, the “ARC” sent the submission on the situation in the Crimea to the UN Special Rapporteur on the right to adequate housing, Mr. Balakrishnan Rajagopal, to his questionnaire on housing discrimination and spatial segregation. The report pointed to the challenges, posed by the aggressor’s organized mass relocation of Russian citizens to Crimea, and to the related infrastructural, water, sanitary and transport crisis on the peninsula. The Association’s submission focused on the challenges, posed by such processes of illegal housing development and urbanization of the Crimea for the local population, especially for the Crimean Tatar People and their identity, as well as on the numerous abuses, committed by the occupation “administration” and its controlled structures during such construction.
